Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains how PaddockFare ("we") handles personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), and the GDPR where it applies.
Responsible party and Information Officer
The responsible party is Sagie Chetty, an individual in South Africa, who is also the Information Officer. Contact: hello@paddockfare.com. Registration of the Information Officer with the Information Regulator is pending.
What we collect and why
- Email address and chosen race, only if you sign up and tick the consent box. We use them only to send price alerts and our newsletter. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Anonymous usage statistics, if enabled, from a cookie-free analytics tool. They don't identify you.
- Affiliate clicks. If you click a partner link, that partner may set its own cookies to record the referral. Their privacy policies apply.
- Affiliate link script. We use Travelpayouts Drive, a script that turns some travel and ticket links into tracked affiliate links. When you click one, Travelpayouts and the partner may record the referral using cookies or similar identifiers. See Travelpayouts' privacy policy.
Who processes it
Our email service provider (for example Kit, based in the USA) stores subscriber data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. This is a cross-border transfer, made with your consent and with safeguards that meet POPIA section 72. We don't sell or rent your data.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete your data within 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your information, object to processing or unsubscribe. Email hello@paddockfare.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and only the minimum data needed is stored with reputable processors.
